In one of the most explosive, highest scoring games of the entire weekend, the Hershey Jr. Bears outlasted the Flyers Youth 10-6. The Bears were ahead 2-1 after the first period, but from then on, the heavens opened up and poured points all over the ice. The Flyers scored four goals in the second period alone, although the Bears were able to score three of their own to keep pace. The game was knotted at 5-5 headed into the game’s decisive period. Entering the third period, the Bears unleashed a deluge of goals, scoring five in the third period and burying the Flyers, 10-6. The Bears put on a scoring display that would make the Showtime Lakers jealous, and won the District Championship in the process.

The Central Penn Panthers demonstrated a devastatingly balanced attack as they took down the Grundy Senators Deflin, 5-1. For one, the Panthers showed off a keen offense. They scored twice in the first period and thrice in the second to put the game out of reach early on. They also demonstrated a sturdy defense, allowing only one goal and shutting out their opponents in the first and third quarters. It was this balance that led them to victory, and now, they’ll balance the District Championship atop their trophy case.
